WordPress Maintenance Contract
Last updated on
A maintenance contract specifies in writing what is done regularly, how quickly we respond to an incident and who owns the data. This page shows what is in our contract – and which points you should check in every quote.

What a maintenance contract should contain
The most common flaw in maintenance offers is not the price but vagueness: “Updates and support” can mean everything or nothing. These seven points make the difference between a declaration of intent and a verifiable service.
01
Scope of services
Which work is included – core, plugins, theme, database – and what is expressly not covered.
02
Frequency
“Regularly” is not a specification. It should state how often checks and updates take place – with us, up to three times a week.
03
Response time
How quickly an incident report is responded to, and whether this also applies outside business hours.
04
Backups and restore
Where the backups are stored, how long they are retained and whether restoration is included in the price.
05
Documentation
A monthly report makes the service verifiable. Without a report, maintenance remains a claim.
06
Privacy Policy
A data processing agreement is mandatory as soon as a service provider has access to personal data.
07
Term and exit
Notice period, handover of access credentials and release of the backups should be settled before they are needed.
Our contract in one sentence
Fixed services, fixed frequency, monthly report, cancellable monthly – with no tie to our hosting and no access lock-outs when you switch.
Compare services →Maintenance contract or pay-per-job billing?
For most businesses, a maintenance contract is the better choice. Without a contract, every job is commissioned individually and billed by the hour. That sounds flexible, but in practice it means maintenance only happens once something is already broken – at the highest hourly rate and under time pressure.
A contract shifts the effort forward: small, predictable amounts instead of rare, large invoices. In addition, the provider already knows the setup when things need to move quickly.
Pay-per-job billing
• Maintenance only happens on request • Hourly rate, often with an emergency surcharge • No guaranteed response time • No monitoring, no documentation
