WordPress maintenance for medical practices & doctors

Last updated on

For many patients, your practice website is the first point of contact: consultation hours, directions, appointment booking, contact form. We keep it available, up to date and technically secured – so inquiries get through and you can focus on your patients.

Why practice websites need special attention

Practice websites handle sensitive inquiries and are often the only way to book an appointment outside consultation hours. If the form fails, nobody notices – the inquiries simply don't arrive. At the same time, health data is subject to high requirements that must be secured technically.

Security

Firewall, login protection and malware scans prevent your practice site from being abused for spam or phishing.

Technical support for data protection

We check SSL, form encryption, cookie consent and external embeds. The legal assessment remains with your data protection officer.

Appointment booking

Booking systems are usually plugins or external services. After every update we check that appointments can actually still be booked.

Contact forms

We test delivery regularly and monitor deliverability – the most common silent error on practice websites.

Performance

Patients mostly search on mobile and on the go. Short load times and readable consultation hours matter more here than elaborate effects.

Updates & backups

Tested updates on fixed cycles, daily external backups – including restoration if something goes wrong after all.

Resilience

Monitoring reports outages automatically. Especially on weekends and public holidays, an offline practice site would otherwise go unnoticed for weeks.

Personal point of contact

Your practice has no IT team. You write to us directly – we know your setup and reply in plain language.

Industry knowledge

What requirements apply to a medical practice website?

A practice website often processes health data, for example through contact or appointment forms. Under Art. 9 GDPR, this data is considered especially sensitive. Forms must therefore be transmitted with encryption, embedded services require a data processing agreement, and the website must be kept technically up to date so that no patient data falls into the wrong hands.

Legal framework for practices

  • Art. 9 GDPR: Health data is a special category of personal data.
  • Art. 32 GDPR: Obligation to implement appropriate technical protective measures, such as encryption and updates.
  • § 203 StGB: Medical confidentiality – a data leak via the website can also affect it.
  • § 5 DDG: Imprint with chamber, statutory professional title and professional regulations.
  • Art. 33 GDPR: Data breaches must generally be reported to the supervisory authority within 72 hours.

What we check during every maintenance

  • SSL certificate valid and enforced everywhere
  • Contact and appointment forms send with encryption and arrive
  • No form entries stored unencrypted in the database
  • Embedded services (online appointment booking, maps, videos) load only after consent
  • Consultation hours, directions and emergency numbers are available
  • Daily backups on servers in the EU
