Typical emergencies
We help with these WordPress problems
Most WordPress emergencies have a clear technical cause – often a plugin conflict, a failed update or a problem on the server.
“There has been a critical error”
Usually a PHP error after a plugin, theme or PHP update. We read out the error logs and fix the cause.
White screen
The page stays blank, even in the backend? Common causes are memory limits, corrupted files or incompatible extensions.
Error establishing a database connection
Incorrect credentials, or an overloaded or damaged database – we check and repair the connection.
Update failed
WordPress stuck in maintenance mode, or the layout broken after an update? We restore the working state.
500 Internal Server Error
Faulty .htaccess, PHP limits or server configuration: we find out what is stopping the server.
No access to the backend
Password reset not working, the admin account is locked or the login ends in a loop – we get you access again.
Website hacked
Redirects, spam or Google warnings? Then our malware removal can help.
SSL and redirect errors
We reliably fix “Not secure” warnings, mixed content or endless redirects after switching to HTTPS.

First aid
WordPress errors: what you can check yourself
Before making any changes: create a backup or ask your host for a recent backup. The following steps help narrow down the cause.
1. Was something just changed?
Most outages follow directly after an update of WordPress, a plugin, the theme or the PHP version. If you know what was changed last, the cause has often already been found.
2. Check the recovery mode email
In the event of a critical error, WordPress sends an email to the administrator address. Using the link it contains, you log in in recovery mode and can deactivate the faulty plugin.
3. Deactivate plugins via FTP
If you can no longer get into the backend, you can temporarily rename the wp-content/plugins folder via FTP or a file manager. If the website loads again afterwards, the problem lies with a plugin.
4. Enable the error log
With WP_DEBUG_LOG in wp-config.php, WordPress writes errors to a log file. The message usually shows exactly which file is triggering the error.
If you are unsure or the website is business-critical, it is better to leave this to us: one wrong move in the database or wp-config.php can make the damage worse. Regular WordPress updates with checks and external backups prevent most emergencies in the first place.
