How your WordPress migration works
Your website keeps running throughout the entire migration. We only switch over once everything has been checked on the new server.

Choose a plan
Hosting Basic, Plus or Enterprise – booked online, server location Germany, Switzerland or Helsinki, no setup fee.

Provide access credentials
You give us the access credentials for your current hosting via an encrypted link. We need nothing more.

Migration and testing
We copy the website, database and emails and check everything in a staging environment – your old website keeps running in the meantime.
04
Switchover
Only once everything works do we switch the domain. Afterwards you can cancel your old hosting at your leisure.

Files and database
The complete website with uploads, themes, plugins and database – with URLs correctly adjusted, including in serialized data.
Email mailboxes
We migrate existing mailboxes and forwardings as well, so that no email is lost.

DNS without downtime
We plan the DNS switchover so that visitors move seamlessly to the new server – without a maintenance page.

Migrating WordPress yourself: what matters
Anyone migrating a WordPress website themselves often underestimates the details. These are the most common stumbling blocks:
URLs in the database
WordPress stores addresses in many places in the database, partly in serialized form. A simple search and replace damages this data – page builder layouts or widget settings are then lost.
DNS and email
When the domain is switched, the MX records for email must also be correct. A TTL that is too long means visitors keep landing on the old server for a long time. That is why we lower the TTL in good time before the migration.
SSL, caching and redirects
After the migration, the website needs a valid SSL certificate, caches must be cleared and existing redirects carried over. If the domain changes as well, 301 redirects are essential to preserve your Google rankings.

No. Your website keeps running on the old server until the switchover. We test the copy beforehand and only switch the domain once everything works.
Yes. We take over existing mailboxes including their contents. Depending on the plan, 5, 10 or 20 email addresses are included.
Not necessarily. The domain can stay with your current provider – we then only adjust the DNS records. On request, we can also take over domain management.
A typical business website is migrated quickly. Larger shops or websites with many mailboxes we plan individually. We agree the timing of the switchover with you.
Only after the switchover is complete and you have checked everything. Observe the notice period of your current provider – until then both environments run in parallel.
Yes. WordPress maintenance can be added optionally at checkout – with updates, daily external backups and security scans from €39 per month.
