WordPress maintenance for insurance companies

Last updated on

Whether insurer, broker or agency: your website handles consultation requests, claims reports and rate calculators, so all of it is sensitive data. We keep it available, up to date and technically secured, so that no enquiry goes unnoticed.

Why insurance websites need particularly careful maintenance

In the insurance industry, trust is decisive. At the same time, your website handles exactly the data that deserves particular protection: contact details, policy numbers, claim descriptions, document uploads. An expired certificate, a silently failing form or a compromised site cost you not only enquiries but credibility, and they touch on regulatory obligations.

Security

Financial and insurance brands are a popular phishing target. A firewall, login protection, two-factor authentication and ongoing malware scans secure your presence.

Technical support for data protection

We check SSL, encrypted form transmission, cookie consent, retention of form data and external embeds. The legal assessment remains with your data protection officer.

Consultation requests & leads

Every undelivered enquiry is a lost sale. We regularly test form submission and monitor deliverability, the most common silent failure.

Rate calculators & comparison tools

Calculators and comparison modules usually come from third parties. After every update, we check that they still load, calculate and pass on results correctly.

Claims reports & uploads

Claims forms with photo and document upload are technically demanding. We check file sizes, encryption and delivery of the reports.

Updates & backups

Tested updates in fixed cycles, daily external backups, including documented restoration in case something does go wrong.

Resilience

Monitoring reports outages automatically. After storms or major loss events, traffic rises abruptly, and that is when the site has to stay up.

Dedicated contact

You can reach us directly, without a ticket system. We know your setup, document every intervention and deliver a traceable report every month.

What requirements apply to insurance company websites?

Insurance websites process sensitive data via consultation requests, rate calculators and claims forms. Since 17 January 2025, the EU DORA regulation has applied to insurance undertakings, requiring comprehensive management of ICT risks. Where consumers can conclude contracts online, the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) must also be observed. Brokers and intermediaries are generally not directly covered by DORA.

Legal framework for insurance companies

  • DORA (EU 2022/2554): ICT risk management and oversight of service providers for insurance undertakings since 17 January 2025.
  • BFSG: Accessibility for online contract conclusions with consumers.
  • Art. 9 GDPR: Health data, for example in health or life insurance.
  • Art. 32 GDPR: Protection of application and claims data.

Usually yes. We review the integration at the start and, after every update, test whether the calculator loads and passes on results correctly.

Small content changes such as contact persons, opening hours, product pages or job postings are covered as part of our service.

In that case we calculate per website and agree common maintenance windows and a combined report for the group.
